Image Code: Tasmanian Devils MRW9598

Sarcophilus harrisii  The world's largest surviving marsupial, it is now found in the wild on on Tasmania.  ICUN listed as Endangered, the devil has declined in numbers by an estimated 85% in the past twelve years. This rapid decline is largely due to a recent contageous facial tumour, historically culling, and continuous roadkill have also been factors.
